Remembering Former Fair Housing Center Executive Director, Jeffrey Dillman

It is with great sadness that we must share the news of the untimely death of The Fair Housing Center’s former Executive Director, Jeffrey Dillman, who passed away on 1/22/22 in his home in Durham, N.C. Jeff was a fierce advocate for fair housing and social justice and instrumental in building the foundation of The Fair Housing Center for Rights & Research (formerly known as the Housing Research & Advocacy Center) today.   Jeff served as Executive Director from 2005 – 2011. After his time at The Fair Housing Center, Jeff served as Managing Attorney and Co-Director of the Fair Housing Project at Legal Aid of North Carolina. Jeff was someone who truly made the world a better place by being in it, and for those of us who were lucky enough to have known him, we are better for it. He was a trusted colleague, friend and mentor to so many in the fair housing community and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service and reception for family, friends and colleagues to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held outdoors at the North Carolina Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill, NC, on March 20, 2022 at 11 a.m. (the memorial will be livestreamed for those who are unable to make the trip to Chapel Hill).
