The Fair Housing Center is fortunate to have a committed team of advocates who work together to achieve our shared goals. But the faces of fair housing don’t stop there. Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing you to our Board members, who are essential to supporting our mission and work. First up is Jonathan Entin, Vice President of the Fair Housing Center’s Board of Directors. Check out our interview below!
Q: How long have you been a Board Member for the Fair Housing Center?
A: Since 2012.
Q: How did you get connected with the Fair Housing Center, and what makes you want to stay involved with this work?
A: I knew several members of the board and had been involved with fair housing issues for many years before I was able to join the board. I stay involved because I want to support the Center’s superb staff that does outstanding work.
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I am a semi-retired professor at Case Western Reserve University (still teaching part-time and writing).
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Reading, hiking, spending time with my wife and family.
Q: What do you want people to know about the Fair Housing Center?
A: The Fair Housing Center has a long record of outstanding work both in helping people who face housing discrimination and in conducting first-rate research on fair housing issues. The service and advocacy work is excellent, and the research is not only outstanding in its own right but also very unusual for fair housing organizations. Most fair housing organizations provide service and do some advocacy, but not very many are able to provide the kind of consistently excellent research that is useful to both scholars and policymakers.
